Back 2 School
Welcome back to another exciting year in the District of Columbia Public School system. We have been working dilligently to prepare for the 2014 -2015 school year and our teachers, administrators, and staff and prepared to provide outstanding instruciton, extra-curricular activities and support services to your children. We look forward to meeting you on day one and many days afterwards.

Beautification Day 2014: August 23
Please come out and support this year’s Orr Beautification Day event on Saturday, August 23, 2014. This annual DCPS event was established in 2005 as a citywide “spruce up” of all DC public school buildings in preparation for the first day of school. Beautification efforts included landscaping, trash pick-up, light painting, planting flowers, and other external beautification efforts. Volunteers and supplies supported over 100 schools.

NetSmartz
Our Mission
NetSmartz Workshop is an interactive, educational program of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) that provides age-appropriate resources to help teach children how to be safer on- and offline. The program is designed for children ages 5-17, parents and guardians, educators, and law enforcement. With resources such as videos, games, activity cards, and presentations, NetSmartz entertains while it educates.
Our Goals
Educate children on how to recognize potential Internet risks
Engage children and adults in a two-way conversation about on- and offline risks
Empower children to help prevent themselves from being exploited and to report victimization to a trusted adult. see website
Oh, the places you'll go!
Oh, the Places You'll Go! is a book written and illustrated by children's author Dr. Seuss. It was first published by Random House on January 22, 1990, making it his last book published before his death. The book concerns the journey of life and its challenges.
